We have been in the handicraft manufacturing business for three generations. Initially, Mr Ahmad Khan, the grandfather of Mr Faisal Khan set up a small horn handicraft manufacturing unit around 60 years back. He used to manufacture combs of buffalo horn. He was among very few comb manufacturers who started this work in his locality of district Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, India. Around that time, this work was considered as the only art-based occupation. Later on, in the late 1980s, his son, Mr Anwar Khan, started exploring the manufacturing of other handicraft items with different materials like Horn, Bone, Wood, Brass, and Mother of Pearls. He started his business with the manufacturing of different metal items like Bangles, Cuff Bracelets, necklaces, Pendants, Rings, and Earrings. For manufacturing these items, he primarily used metals like brass, copper, gilet etc. Mr Anwar khan was among the pioneers of this business in his city. He used to supply these items to local suppliers who further used to sell them in the domestic market and to exporters. He continued this business with his sons for about 20 years; later on, his sons started exploring the manufacturing of other items and materials and expanded this business by starting the manufacturing of other handicraft items of buffalo horn at a large scale. Currently, we specialise in the manufacturing of buffalo horn buttons, buffalo horn scales and other items.
